Amy Shannon is a seasoned consultant with over 25 years’ experience working to strengthen the retirement income security of workers, retirees and their families. Her work has included developing educational programs and materials while at the Pension Rights Center and the Older Women’s League (OWL). At OWL, Ms. Shannon developed pension basics workshops for OWL chapters which then sponsored the programs in their communities. At the U.S. Department of Labor, she analyzed the impact of income security legislation on pension plan participants protected by the Employee Retirement Security Act. At AARP, Ms. Shannon developed an expertise in regulatory advocacy advancing AARP’s goals to address retirement issues facing its then-30 million members.

Ms. Shannon is currently serving her second term as Chair of the Leadership Council on Aging’s Income Security Committee. Ms. Shannon has a B.A. from Albion College and a J.D. from the Catholic University, Columbus School of Law.
